This piece was created using pastels which were handmade by the subject of this drawing. He puts the Tilak marking on his head every morning, often while its still dark out. The low light and limited palette really encouraged me to incorporate more vibrant colors than I normally would, making this piece one of my new favorites! Chalk pastel on toned paper, 19x14in.
